Year Physical vs. Sports Physical

At Advanced Primary Medicine, we take your health seriously. In order to discuss health concerns and screen for certain diseases, you should see your doctor for a regular check up at least once a year. This yearly check up or also known as a “physical” is not to be confused with a “sports physical.” For instance, a sports physical may involve a physical exam, some history taking, but most of the time is spent filling out forms for sports participation. On the other hand, a yearly physical goes into a lot more detail about any health concerns or questions. We discuss overall health, nutrition, safety, school performance, and relationships with other. Furthermore, we screen for depression and anxiety, video games/social media usage, discuss tobacco/alcohol/vaping and other drug use. Most importantly a full examination is done and if needed we can screen for cholesterol, diabetes ad other diseases. Lastly, we discuss the importance of vaccines and go over immunization records to see if any vaccines are missing or overdue.

Take charge of your health. Do not delay scheduling your yearly physical. Call us today to see one of our board certified physicians.
